About Stepping Stone Christian Education (SSCE)

At Stepping Stone Christian Education (SSCE), we believe that wisdom, knowledge, and understanding flow from the Word of God. Our foundation rests on the truth that every believer is called to a season of preparation, discipleship, and sending.

As an Apostolic Biblical Training Institution, SSCE is dedicated to equipping men and women of God to walk boldly and effectively in their divine callings. We prepare Christian leaders to serve as Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, and other ministry leaders who embody both excellence and integrity in service to the Kingdom.

Our comprehensive programs—offered for both local and distance learners—combine biblical doctrine, theological study, and practical ministry training to ensure students are spiritually grounded, academically prepared, and ministry ready. Every course is designed to deepen understanding of Scripture, strengthen spiritual discipline, and cultivate leadership that reflects the heart of Christ.

SSCE stands as a training ground for those who are serious about their spiritual growth and ministry development. Our goal is to raise up leaders who are not only knowledgeable in the Word but empowered by the Spirit to make a lasting impact in the 21st-century Church and beyond.

“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” — 2 Timothy 2:2 (KJV)

Join us at Stepping Stone Christian Education and take the next step in fulfilling your purpose. Be equipped. Be empowered. Be sent.

Our History

Stepping Stone Christian Education (SSCE) was birthed through a vision received in prayer by Dr. Apostle Asia Turner in 2015. What began as a divine mandate soon developed into a structured movement to equip and empower believers for effective Kingdom service.

In obedience to that vision, Dr. Turner not only founded SSCE but also authored its original curriculum, laying the foundation for the institution’s Apostolic and biblically sound approach to Christian education. Her heart for training and preparing leaders in the Word and Spirit continues to shape the identity and mission of SSCE today.

The school officially launched in 2019 as a satellite campus of Touch of Love School of Theology in Montgomery, Alabama. Since that time, SSCE has grown into an independent, Apostolic institution of higher learning, serving students both locally and globally through on-site and distance education programs.

As a non-profit, non-governmental Christian education institution, SSCE operates independently of governmental systems and affiliations, maintaining full alignment with Kingdom principles and biblical truth.

Today, SSCE offers certificates, diplomas, ministry licenses, ordinations, degrees, and continuing education programs in the areas of ministerial and Christian education studies. Its doctrinal foundation remains firmly rooted in Apostolic teaching, spiritual formation, and the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry.

“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” — Psalm 118:23 (KJV)

Accreditation and Licensing Information

Stepping Stone Christian Education (SSCE) is a non-governmental, faith-based institution dedicated to the training and equipping of born-again Christian men and women for ministry and service in the Body of Christ.

Purpose and Educational Focus

SSCE’s academic programs are designed specifically for religious and ministerial vocations and are rooted in Apostolic doctrine and biblical truth. Our mission is to prepare students for roles in ministry such as Biblical Studies, Theology, Christian Counseling, Pastoral Leadership, and Apostolic Ministry.

Our degree programs are not designed to meet local, state, or national licensing requirements for secular or government-regulated professions.

Prospective students seeking degrees for employment or state licensing purposes (such as public education, clinical counseling, or other regulated careers) should consult with the relevant agencies or employers prior to enrollment to determine specific requirements.

Accreditation Philosophy

SSCE recognizes that secular accreditation is not required for institutions offering education in religious or theological vocations. The programs provided by SSCE are intended solely for ministry preparation and spiritual development within the framework of the Church.

We believe that true ministry training should remain free from governmental control or influence, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide both curriculum and calling.

“For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” — Romans 11:29 (KJV)

Separation of Church and State

Stepping Stone Christian Education operates in full recognition of the biblical distinction between civil government and the Church.
Religious education functions independently of secular accreditation, as the civil and spiritual realms serve distinct and divinely ordained purposes.

SSCE upholds the conviction that Christian institutions should remain accountable to God and His Word, rather than to secular governing bodies.

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?” — 2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV)
“Know ye not that friendship with the world is enmity with God?” — James 4:4 (KJV)

Institutional Commitment

SSCE offers education exclusively for religious and ministerial purposes, trusting in the autonomy of the Church and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the training of Christian leaders.
Our goal is to equip every student to serve effectively in ministry—approved by God, empowered by the Spirit, and prepared for Kingdom impact.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” — 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

Why SSCE Does Not Pursue Secular Accreditation

The Department of Education, as a secular body, is not equipped to evaluate Bible schools, which are spiritual in nature and operate by biblical, not secular, standards. As 1 Corinthians 2:14 states, "The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them because they are spiritually discerned."

SSCE is not accredited by any secular agency and has no plans to pursue such accreditation for three key reasons:

  1. Affordability: Secular accreditation would significantly increase costs, impacting SSCE’s ability to offer low tuition rates.

  2. Doctrinal Autonomy: Accreditation could compromise SSCE’s ability to maintain its Apostolic teachings.

  3. Mission Alignment: Secular accreditation might hinder SSCE’s theological and philosophical consistency with its mission and doctrinal standards.

SSCE is committed to providing high-quality education that equips students with maturity, biblical understanding, and exegetical skills. We believe our programs speak for themselves, and prospective students will recognize the academic excellence and spiritual depth we offer.

Non-Discrimination & Faith-Based Policy

Stepping Stone Christian Education (SSCE) welcomes students of all races, ethnicities, colors, birth genders, ages, and disabilities, providing equal access to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or gender in our admissions, educational policies, scholarships, or other administered programs.

As a Bible-based Apostolic institution, all instruction, curriculum, and campus standards are founded upon the Holy Scriptures. Every student who applies to or enrolls in SSCE acknowledges that the school’s teachings, values, and community expectations reflect historic Christian beliefs regarding life, conduct, and morality.

Students of any background are welcome to apply and participate, with the understanding that:

  • SSCE’s programs are designed to teach and uphold biblical principles, including those related to marriage, sexuality, and moral conduct.

  • All students are expected to respect and adhere to the spiritual and behavioral standards outlined in Scripture and the SSCE Student Handbook.

  • Enrollment signifies agreement to learn within a faith-based environment where all instruction aligns with Apostolic doctrine and the biblical worldview.

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)

The minimum age for admission is 17, unless an official exemption is granted by the Academic Dean.

  10. The Second Coming: Christ will rapture the Church and reign during the millennium (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

  11. Final Judgment: All flesh will face judgment, leading to eternal heaven or hell (Revelation 19:20; Luke 16:24).

  12. New Heaven and Earth: God will create a new eternal dwelling for His people (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1).
